A PROMISING footballer who studies at Bromsgrove School has the world at his feet after playing for the Independent School Football Association England under-14s team.

Zachary Jeacock, 13, impressed for the team during a football camp in Oakham in August and he now been selected as for the all-important festival in October.

This will help to decide the final 18-strong squad for a series of matches at the FA's St George's Lane Football Centre in December.

The teenager, who lives in Hackman's Gate near Belbroughton, was in good form and captained England in their 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday's academy side.

The squad also tackled teams from Derby, Leicester, Watfordm Milwall and Norweigan outfit Moss To-Takt.

Father Stepehen Jeacock said: "Zach is a level headed lad, he takes everything in his stride.

"He caught the eye for the ISFA at a Midlands trial and has not looked back since then.

"He captained England against Sheffield Wednesday in the first game and the team did very well."

The gifted young centre back has also been a member of Birmingham City's academy since the age of seven.

He is currently being coached by lead youth development coach and Mike Dodds and Sam Manioochehri.

To help him with his development, he has been given special dispensation by Bromsgrove School's Director of Sport Paul Mullan to spend Tuesday's working at Birmingham.

He will also be juggling his studies while training five days a week and playing on a Sunday.

A number of English players have came through the ISFA's production line, including Premier League and England team star Frank Lampard, Fraser Forster, Will Hughes, Tom Adeyemi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
