THE third annual Swingamajig festival is returning to Birmingham and revellers are should get ready to party like its 1929.

Swingamajig is the UK’s first one day festival devoted to staging electro swing, Gypsy folk and vintage mayhem in an urban setting.

There will be 1920s glamour and twenty first century tomfoolery, all at the Custard Factory on May Bank Holiday.

Tom Hyland, from Electric Swing Circus festival, said: "Never before have the charm of the roaring twenties been combined with today’s technology; bringing you old-fashioned fun with state-of-the-art sound systems and lighting rigs.

"Swingamajig takes place within the iconic Custard Factory across six stages, bringing you the ultimate eclectic mix of vintage music, entertainment, fashion and performance art. Picture acrobats, burlesque, walkabout performers and circus acts right before your eyes as your ears take in the sounds of live swing bands, award-winning DJs and local rising stars."

He added: "French sensation Chinese Man takes the headline slot on the Swingamajig main stage, with DMC world champion Mr Switch performs alongside Brighton-bred junglist Ed Solo in the Ragtime Records Warehouse.

"Fancy something a little less orthodox? Head to The Cave of Curiosities to witness the brain child of theatrical phenomenon Legs Akimbo’s The Church – prepare to be baptised in absinth and dance with the devil himself."
