I was born in Baghdad to Kurdish parents and my family fled here from Saddam’s persecutions when I was 9.

Britain has given me everything, above all the honour of being Stratford on Avon’s MP these last five years. If you vote for me again I will bring real world experience, a track record of delivery, and a plan for the future.

Firstly, having started my own business from scratch; I’m not someone who has only ever worked in politics.

Since 2010, I secured extra funding for local schools and our tourism industry, backed local businesses with my Independent Shop Awards, and forced the Government to make it harder for developers to target our countryside.

But there’s much more I want to do. I am committed to the best possible healthcare and will fight to ensure Stratford gets its fair share of NHS resources. I want an outstanding education for young people and support the expansion of grammar schools, academies and apprenticeships.

Finally, I want to make Stratford an even better place to live and work by tackling congestion and securing greater protections for the countryside we love.

Support me and we can work together to secure Stratford’s future.
