SDL Bigwood PRS & Estate Management has won a prestigious contract to manage 79 luxury residential apartments in leafy Bournville village in Birmingham.

The Franklin, the former Cadbury head office, and reputedly where the Curly Wurly was invented, has been converted in a joint venture between city developer Court Collaboration and Hong Kong-based Headland Developments.

It comprises bespoke studio, one and two bedroom apartments and beautiful penthouse residences complete with internal courtyard gardens.

Kate Hutton, new business client support manager for SDL Bigwood, said: “Our PRS & Estate Management department will be managing all aspects, both internal and external – everything from cleaning to gardening, maintenance and tenant liaison.

“We are thrilled to win the business. It is a quality development. Court Collaboration and Headland Developments have done an amazing job and we very much appreciate the confidence they have shown in us.”

The Franklin began life in the 1960s as a modernist building and the redevelopment has sought to retain some of the original period feel.

Anthony McCourt, chief executive and founder of Court Collaboration, said: “We specialise in transforming iconic buildings into luxury homes for the future, producing desirable and high-specification living spaces, bringing positive and lasting change to the communities involved.

“Similarly, SDL Bigwood have a strong reputation for housing management and ensuring schemes operate efficiently.”

The £16 million complex was recently acquired by joint venture partners from Hong Kong and Macau, China.
