Kendrick Homes Limited, part of the 134-year-old Kendrick Construction Group, based at Westhill House on the Hagley Road in Stourbridge, has welcomed the Chancellor’s decision to extend the governments ‘Help to Buy’ scheme to 2020.

The well-established house builder is seeing an increase in applications for the scheme with their first time buyer clients, who often are young families looking to get on the property ladder for the first time.

James Rennison, managing director at Kendrick Homes commented: “The government’s ‘Help to Buy’ scheme has enabled our clients, from both ends of the buying spectrum, to both start on the housing ladder and also move property with just a 5% deposit on properties valued up to £600,000.

“We have also noticed that our younger purchasers have been able to step onto the property ladder much quicker through the scheme, and the extension to 2020 will be welcomed by prospective clients that are currently saving for their deposit.

‘From a company perspective it is giving us confidence us to plan ahead with more land purchases.”
