A Taylor Wimpey Site Manager from Worcestershire is celebrating after winning his first national house-building award.

Tony Ludlow, a Site Manager from Solihull currently taking care of Taylor Wimpey’s The Orchards development in Evesham, beat off stiff competition from around 16,000 other Site Managers to be honoured with an NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Award.

Pride in the Job Quality Awards are presented following a stringent judging process by NHBC inspectors who perform spot checks and continuous assessment of developments throughout the year.

The award recognises Tony’s consistent dedication to building high-quality homes for new homebuyers and provides purchasers with the assurance that The Orchards provides top-quality properties and excellent customer service.

Lloyd Green, Production Director for Taylor Wimpey West Midlands, said: “I’d like to congratulate Tony for winning a Quality Award – his success is thoroughly deserved and we’ll all be supporting him as he progresses through to the regional heats and hopefully to the grand final in London.

“Here at Taylor Wimpey West Midlands, we are committed to maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service, and we’re delighted that Tony’s dedication to the job has been recognised in this way.”

Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide awards scheme that recognises the significant contribution of Site Managers who achieve the highest standards in new home construction.

The scheme has been instrumental in raising the build quality of new homes in the UK for over three decades. The regional events take place in the autumn, whilst the Supreme Awards gala final will be held in London in January 2017.

The Orchards enjoys a spectacular setting where established natural features, including a picturesque orchard, mature trees and hedgerows and a tranquil stream, are complemented by beautiful new open spaces.

Beyond the borders of the development lie open fields to the north, while an established residential community neighbours the development to the south. Parents will appreciate that the highly-regarded Bengeworth Academy is also right on the doorstep.

The Orchards is just 18 miles from Worcester and the M5 north, or 21 miles from the M5 south for Gloucester and the south west, while central Birmingham is just 31 miles away. Evesham railway station provides regular direct services to London and to Worcester for connections to Birmingham New Street.
