9:34am Wednesday 7th May 2008

THE leading characters of Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society's Kiss me Kate - Brush up their Shakespeare!' are in rehearsal for a week of colour and costume at Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore.

The must-see show runs from June 9 to 14 (7.30pm).

It revolves around a performance of 'The Taming of the Shrew' where the leading lady plays opposite her ex-husband, who is also the director.

It is recipe for sparks to fly.

Added to this is the arrival of two American comic gangsters who get entangled in the scenes.

The result of this 'play within a play' is a wonderful evening's entertainment full of non-stop action, fun, humour and unforgettable songs by Cole Porter.

Director Sue Price said: "The cast are working so hard to make the show a great success and a thoroughly entertaining evening."

Tickets cost between £10 and £12 and are available in advance on 01386 555488.
