Legends take centre stage
LEGENDS of the Birmingham music scene will take to the stage when Brum Rocks Live heads to the Palace Theatre in Redditch.
The show on May 22, features Bev Bevan, Steve Gibbons, Danny King, Trevor Burton, and Laurie Hornsby
After its sell out tour in 2006 and 2007 Brum Rocks Live returns with new songs, new stories, same electric atmosphere.
For the children of the 60's and late 50's in Birmingham rock'n'roll music was introduced to them by bands in their local clubs.
Clubs like The Cedar, The Carlton, The Adelphi Ballroom, The Belfry and many more.
And it was in these clubs that Danny King and The Royals, The John Bull Breed, The M and B 5, the Moodies!), Carl Wayne & The Vikings, Mike Sheridan & The Nightriders, Denny Laine and The Diplomats and The Modernairs to name just a few had Birmingham rockin'.
Recently Laurie Hornsby wrote two wonderful books, 'Brum Rocked' and 'Brum Rocked On', which traced the history of the clubs and, more importantly, the bands.
This tour brings together four of Birmingham's finest rock'n'roll heroes.
Whilst Laurie tells the story they will bang out the tunes.
Will the memories comes flooding back ? Guaranteed !
