CHORAL singers are being invited to take part in a charity ‘Messiah’ concert in Hagley.
Come and Sing Messiah is looking for singers and audience members to be part of the St John’s Church event on Saturday December 10, which is being held in aid of Oxfam’s Stourbridge branch.
The event is inspired by the bi-annual Messiah that professional violinist and organiser, Anna Downes, daughter of critically acclaimed composer Andrew Downes, experienced as a student at Haybridge High School.
Her sister Paula Downes, a soprano, will be performing with her on the night, joined by bass soloist Alan Fairs, mezzo soprano Lucy Taylor and tenor Steven Swindells.
Clent musician Anthony Bradbury will conduct the concert while professional chamber orchestra, Central England Camerata will provide the accompaniment.
Everyone is invited to either be a member of the audience, or sing as part of the choir, with rehearsals beginning at 2pm on the day.
The concert starts at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at £15 and £13 for concessions, including interval refreshments.
To book tickets, or to be part of the choir, call Anna on 07967 728588 or email ardviolinist@gmail.com
