ORGANISERS of an annual opera evening in Worcester are hoping to hit the right note to help raise money for families affected by childhood cancer.

Tickets are now on sale for a performance of Puccini’s Opera Tosca by Pavillion Opera, which is being co-ordinated by Worcester Opera Committee, and will take place at Worcester Cathedral on Thursday June 25.

All the profits raised from the evening will benefit children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent and Worcester Cathedral Music Endowment Fund.

There will be a pre-performance reception from 6-7pm at the Worcester Porcelain Museum which will be followed by the performance at cathedral from 7.15pm.

The dress code for the evening is smart lounge suits and tickets cost £60 – with a special offer available for a limited time only that any teacher paying the full price for a ticket will be able to bring two music students for free.

Local community fundraising manager Lindsay Manning said: The opera evening is the perfect opportunity to have a good night out and help raise money for a great cause.”
