THE Alcester Victoria Silver Band will perform at a charity concert in Pershore organised by the town’s Rotary Club.

On the summer’s evening of Friday, June 19, Number 8 Community Arts Centre on High Street will play host to the event, as one of the oldest established brass bands in the country take the audience through the Renaissance to the Blues, playing a little classical and jazz with a lot of style and pizzazz.

Gordon Hartley Bennett will conduct the evening’s entertainment which will also feature the fabulous soprano voice of Jane Richardson, Trevor T’s latest renditions and music to inspire and amuse.

Founded in 1897, the band is proud of its history and involvement in the fabric of rural life in Alcester and proceeds from the evening will go to support Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust and other Rotary charities.

The show will start at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and are available on 01386 555488 or on the door, subject to availability.
