FANS of one of Britain’s most iconic rock bands will go ga-ga at the Palace Theatre as their music is brought back to life.
Queen remain hugely popular almost 20 years after the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury, which brought the bandwagon of multi-layered, thumping pop and rock anthems to a premature standstill.
People who have seen the band’s tribute act Ga Ga perform A Towering Tribute before will by now be fully aware of the ethos behind the band’s live performance, however, for those who haven't may well find themselves asking how three people looking nothing like any member of Queen could possibly impersonate them on stage.
Ga Ga are not attempting in the slightest to recreate the look of Queen on stage – there are no wigs, no make up and definitely no false moustaches but instead there is a healthy respect for the power, passion and musical dexterity that so typified a live Queen performance.
Those who want to recreate the magic of Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and I Want to Break Free can do so on Friday, June 26 at 7.30pm.
Tickets can be purchased for £13-14 at the Palace Theatre box office or on 65203.
