Award winning Canadian singer/songwriter James Keelaghan finishes his 2009 UK tour with a visit to Bromsgrove Folk Club on Thursday, October 8.

In a country of fine song writing tradition Keelaghan is widely acknowledged as probably the best of them all. His masterful story telling has, over the course of nine recordings, been part of the bedrock of his success, earning Keelaghan nominations and awards – including a Juno (Canada’s Grammy) – and acclaim from Australia to Scandinavia.

Possessed of an insatiable appetite for finding the next unique story line, Keelaghan forges his pieces with brilliant craftsmanship and monogrammed artistic vision, making him one of the most distinctive and readily identifiable voices on both the Canadian and international singer-songwriter scenes.

But Keelaghan is a master performer too and brings with him top Canadian bass player Hugh McMillan and fiddler extraordinaire Jaime RT to the club in Catshill – the same line up that wowed the Bromsgrove Folk Festival audience in July 2008. A night not to be missed.

Bromsgrove Folk Club meets at Catshill Social Club, Meadow Road, Catshill – doors open around 7.45pm and the show commences at 8.15pm. Both members (£5) and non-members (£7) are more than welcome.
