The only thing Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood and Sue Perkins are arguing about is who is buying the next round.

The presenter has hit back at claims that she and the TV baking guru are embroiled in a bitter feud, labelling the claims as “ludicrous”.

A story in The Sun claimed: “The pair have been ‘tiffin’ since it was announced the BBC had lost the show after seven years.” It also referred to a moment in Wednesday night’s show when Sue joked to Paul: “And Paul, I think you have an appointment at Banalities R Us, just over there.”

But any hint of frostiness on the programme – which was recorded in spring, months before the decision to move GBBO to Channel 4 was made – was waved away by the stars on social media.

After a tweet from Paul saying “see you soon” and calling her “Sis,” Sue responded: “Yes. Soon. And you are paying xx”

It followed Paul nominating his Bake Off co-star to post a “smashing cancer” video for charity.

Sue declined the invitation – with it being a particularly sensitive subject for her personally – but thanked him for the nomination and for making a donation to her local hospice.

Looks like nothing but love and understanding here…
