Ice Cube has revealed he is not a "sore loser", following remarks he made about him and Ride Along co-star Kevin Hart being "robbed" of their MTV award.

The pair lost out to the late Paul Walker and his Fast And Furious co-star Vin Diesel in the best on-screen duo category at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, and the rapper-turned-actor claimed that it was an unfair win.

"We was robbed," he told USA Today. "Shame on you, MTV."

Ice - who will reprise his role alongside funnyman Kevin in the sequel - claimed that Paul, who died in a car in November, won out of "sympathy" as the votes were chosen by fans.

"We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy. We were the best on-screen duo, period," he said of himself and Kevin.

He added: "They should have gave it to him (Paul) before he passed away."

Ice also admitted that he left mid-way through the ceremony, so he could watch the basketball game between his beloved Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies.

"I just wasn't into it," he said. "I have been going in and out of these things for 25 years. If you ain't into it, why torture yourself? As soon as you get bored, get up and leave."

The hip-hop star later tweeted: "I wasn't really mad we didn't win. So I would never diss the actors who won. Not even Paul Walker. Seriously people! Don't believe the hype. Ice Cube is not a sore loser. I was born losing. This winning s**t is what I gotta get use to."

He added: "Re: The sympathy vote: We should honour people before they die. That's all. And Paul Walker fans don't trip. I was a fan too."
