Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello put their love on display at the Screen Actors Guild awards, as the Modern Family star confirmed the news about their engagement.

The couple, who got engaged in December, kissed and hugged on the red carpet of the star-studded ceremony, where Sofia couldn’t resist showing off her engagement ring, which almost took the spotlight away from her figure-hugging red Donna Karan gown.

“I’m so happy,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “We’re super excited about the future.”

Sofia shared photos of her and Joe, along with the Modern Family cast, throughout the evening on her WhoSay account.

The 42-year-old actress, best known for playing feisty matriarch Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in Modern Family, said that the wedding would be a huge event rather than a low-key ceremony.

“I think we’re going to try to do it sooner rather than later,” Sofia revealed. “It’s going to be a lot of people. It has to be a lot of people. We sat down and tried, ‘Okay, let’s see if we can do like 20 and 20,’ and it was impossible.”

Magic Mike and True Blood star Joe reportedly popped the question on Christmas Day, after the pair had been dating for around six months. They met at the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner in May, when the 38-year-old actor was caught looking at Sofia’s bottom.

He tweeted after the SAGs: “Great time tonight at #SAGawards2015 con mi prometida (with my fiancee).”

It would be the second wedding for Sofia, who was previously married to her high-school sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez.
