REDDITCH residents have the chance take to see behind the scenes of a modern digital cinema before blasting off into orbit with none other than George Clooney.

This Saturday, August 30, at 7pm, Feckenham’s FeckenOdeon Cinema will open its doors to allow folk to visit the projection room and find out how it all works. Then at 7.30pm it’ll be time for “lift off” for this year’s British made multi-Oscar winner Gravity.

The occasion is The FeckenOdeon’s annual showcase – a curtain raiser to the cinema’s main season starting in September. People can come along and see how an ordinary village hall is transformed into a fully equipped luxury cinema – complete with giant screen, surround sound and red plush décor. The cinema has been running since 2001 and is staffed entirely by volunteers. Cinemagoers can either book tickets for each individual show or join The FeckenOdeon Cinema Society for a substantial discount.

The feature film Gravity stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts working on what starts out as a routine mission to the International Space Station, but then something goes wrong.

Prepare to be gripped by one of the most impressive products of the British film industry - made and finished at Pinewood and Shepperton studios.

Tickets costing £5 are on sale at The Village Shop and The Rose & Crown in Feckenham and can also be booked by phone on 0333 666 3366 or at feckenodeon.co.uk

On Saturday, September 27 the FeckenOdeon will screen the fantastic, fast and furious, fun filled Ruritanian romp The Grand Budapest Hotel starring Ralph Fiennes.  Full details can be found at feckenodeon.co.uk.
