FOR one night only, The Three Degrees, the longest-running female vocal group in history will be coming to Birmingham.

The show, part of a tour across the UK, will see the unstoppable trio perform some of their greatest hits and enduring classics.

Currently celebrating 50 years in the business, original members Helen Scott and Valerie Holiday, along with new arrival Freddie Pool (who joined in 2011), look forward to returning to Birmingham, a city close to their hearts.

Helen Scott said: “Our love affair with Birmingham goes back to the 70s when we played the Night Out club every year, sometimes for a week or more. We got to know the city well and have many wonderful memoires of performing in Birmingham.”

The Three Degrees’ Valerie Holiday added: “We are very much looking forward to being in Birmingham again. It truly is one of our favourite cities.”

The Three Degrees featured in the Guinness World Records as the longest-running female vocal group in history and were, without doubt, the most successful female soul/disco outfit of the 1970s, scoring hit after hit including the classics, When Will I See You Again, Year of Decision, Take Good Care of Yourself and the UK Top 10 hits Woman In Love and My Simple Heart.

The show is at The Old Rep on September 20 at 7.30pm.
