TWO big shows will be heading to Malvern’s Three Counties Showground next month.

First up is the Autumn Show over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25, and then just a week later there’s the chance for campers and caravaners to head for the hills to enjoy a fun-packed weekend or day out at the Malvern Caravan Show.

Anton Du Beke will headline the Malvern Autumn Show’s Vintage Village as the ultimate harvest festival returns.

Eager movers and shakers will be donning their dancing shoes to join the BBC Strictly Come Dancing star on the Saturday as he takes to the floor to show off how to become the ultimate dance flirt of the 40’s and 50’s.

Malvern Autumn is the last food, horticulture and nostalgia show of the season.

It draws around 65,000 visitors over two days and hosts a range of interactive features including cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs, Home Grown classes with the Royal Horticultural Society, the UK National Giant Vegetables Championship, RHS Flower Show and exhibitions of vintage clothes and vehicles.

Gardening guru of BBC Gardeners World Carol Klein will be in the Autumn Theatre on both days for talks, demonstrations and a chance for you to ask the the expert gardening questions.

The Autumn Theatre stage, designed by RHS Gold Medal winner Jon Wheatley, will be a sea of colour created from 30 varieties of dahlias, some of which visitors will never have seen before.    Also on display are a variety of bulbs to buy ready to plant in the garden to blossom in Spring by some of the UKs top nurseries including Pheasant Acre Nursery.

There will also be stunning floral displays at the RHS Flower Show nurseries competing for the coveted RHS Gold Medal.

For three nurseries - Wack’s Wicked Plants, Tissington Nursery and Kate Clowes Plantswomen; this is the first time they have exhibited at a RHS Flower Show.

Meanwhile, making a welcome return is Reg Moule, a well known voice on several BBC local radio stations. He will be hosting the Potting Bench in the RHS Flower Show.  Reg and the nurseries on display are hosting talks and displays throughout the day.    And if you should be in need of further fresh air, beautiful scenery and some time with family and friends, then check out the great value weekend break on offer at the Malvern Caravan Show the following weekend.

The show has four nights of camping, two nights of entertainment, an exhibition area and lots to see and do locally, and if you can’t stay at the show as a camper but would still like to visit as a day visitor, admission rates are £5 for adults and children are FREE. This includes FREE parking and a FREE showguide on arrival.

The exhibition area opens daily from Thursday, September 29 through to Sunday, October 2 at 10am and closes at 5pm.

Visiting the show will be Rocky and Wendy with their beautiful Driftwood Caravan. Their skills and craftsmanship have converted this wonderful caravan into a unique wooden themed design, with all the character of vintage but the practicality of new.

They will be more than happy to show you their work and perhaps inspire you to get creative in your own van!

If you’re feeling lucky there’s a chance to join in a game of Bingo on the Friday for a chance to top up your weekend spending money, with eyes-down beginning at 2pm in the Severn Hall.

The organisers are also providing a low-cost Shuttle Bus Service from the showground into Malvern on the Saturday.

Other attractions include a Fun Dog Show on Sunday, October 2 with a variety of unusual classes and a mini adventure golf course.
