MUSICIANS from around the Midlands are being offered the opportunity by the Royal Shakespeare Company to showcase their talent in the foyer of its studio theatre, The Other Place in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Musicians, singers and songwriters who can offer two 45 minute sets, primarily of original music, are encouraged to apply.  Submissions are welcome from soloists and small groups, representing all genres of music, including pop, folk, acoustic, electronic and country.

Performances will take place on the first Thursday of every month in Susie’s Bar, usually starting at 8pm, with the first event taking place on Thursday, April 8.

Louisa Davies from the RSC Events and Exhibition team, said: “We know there are some exceptionally talented musicians, singers and songwriters in the Midlands, and we would love to give them the chance to perform.

“Susie’s Bar has a very special and intimate atmosphere, where members of the public often mingle with actors and the creative teams on our shows.”

Those interested in taking part in the music nights should contact the RSC on top.music@rsc.org.uk, sending a link to three music tracks and a biography of up to 150 words.

The RSC will provide a PA and sound technician, a listing on the RSC website and other relevant publicity, and a fee.

The closing date for applications is Friday, February 24, 2017.
