GOOD vibrations will be heading to the Artrix in Bromsgrove when a Beach Boys tribute band celebrate the 50th anniversary of an album that was never even released.

Initially teased for a 1967 release, Brian Wilson’s legendary Smile was heralded as a masterpiece, then shelved as the band substituted its release with Smiley Smile.

The ‘lost’ project is considered one of music’s most famous unreleased albums and Alcester ten-piece Surf’s Up will mark the anniversary with a historic show on Saturday, March 4.

Lead singer Sean Macreavy said: "We'll be creating history by being the first tribute band ever to celebrate an album that never came out in the first place!

"2017 is the 50th anniversary of Brian Wilson shelving his legendary masterpiece Smile, their much-awaited follow-up to the wonderful Pet Sounds.

"It has some amazing songs, some of which you'll already know and love, such as Good Vibrations, Heroes and Villains, Wonderful, Vegetables and Surf's Up.

"Our band will be playing a unique 20-minute 'Smile Suite' to pay homage to this incredible, unreleased marvel."

Fun, fun, fun is in store for viewers as the group plays classics from the album, as well as a host of familiar Beach Boys gems to complete a special two-hour performance.

The show begins at 7.30pm and costs £16 for adults and £14 for over 60s, students and under 16s. God only knows why you would want to miss it!
