RESIDENTS are being invited to night of live music at the Cross Keys in Alcester

As part of Jack Blackman's Tuery Sessions, Claire Boswell and band Mesa will be performing on July 9.

Claire Boswell's distinctive and timeless sound evokes the aura of the Woodstock generation, with resonating lyrics, mellifluous vocals, and a subtle technical expertise reminiscent of Joan Baez, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris.

Claire combines progressive songwriting and an effortless voice to create pieces capturing both emotion and truth.

Her debut album was featured in the Telegraph's top folk albums of 2014.

Formed out of the ashes of Midland's favourites The Delta Blues Band, Mesa's repertoire has broadened out from the original blues roots to encompass different styles as diverse as Americana and reggae.

The band was formed in the summer of 2006 when guitarists Neil Murray and Paul Broadhurst (formerly of Rooster) teamed up with drummer Dave Shuttleworth.

The keen-eared will detect influences from Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King to Gram Parsons and Townes Van Zant.

Music starts at 6pm and there will also be a raffle and jam session to conclude.
