MASSIVE marrows and many other giant vegetables are set to amaze visitors at the ultimate harvest festival this Saturday and Sunday when the Malvern Autumn Show is held at the Three Counties Showground.

Many of the big beans, pumpkins and carrots have arrived and are now under tight security before the crowds arrive tomorrow morning to marvel at these garden giants.

The show, in association with Weston’s Cider Visitor Centre, coincides with the start of the British Food Fortnight that runs from Saturday through to October 8.

Selasi Gbormittah, Andi Oliver and Judith Hann are set to headline the Cookery Theatre at this year’s show which will offer plenty of fun and attractions for all the family.

The show will also showcase the amazing wealth of local food and drink produced across the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire with producers and growers on hand to share their passion and fill hungry tummies.

Visitors will be able to Listen to Treehouse Tales in the show’s new for 2017 Treehouse Garden with renowned British Indian storyteller Peter Chand on Saturday and Christine McMahon on Sunday and also pop into the Discover Harvest Village Show .

Also on offer is all the fun of the fair as the fairground comes to the Vintage Village with classic Old Tyme rides dating from the 1900’s including a Carousel, Helter Skelter and Ferris Wheel, and for anyone keen on the artisans of yesteryear they will be able to find out about Forgotten Skills using traditional techniques.

There will be demonstrations in the Forgotten Skills Marquee that will teach children of trades of yesteryear with a time travelling glimpse into how things were done in the past.

There’s also numerous plants and garden displays, and a chance to wonder at the World of Animals with all creatures great and small, including the BPA’s Young Pig of the Year, Gloucestershire Old Spots Champion of Champions and Saddleback Champion of Champions all taking place.

And inspiration will also be offered by the pumpkin carver who will have the crowds amazed by his creations and possibly inspired to create masterpieces back home.
