SAT on the sofa with a burger in one hand, whiskey in the other. If only it was socially acceptable to wear your slippers in the cinema.

Wild Turkey's Bold Cinema Series at Everyman combines all the best things about watching a movie in the comfort of your own home with the ease and luxury of an old-fashioned cinema experience.

Master distillers at Wild Turkey Bourbon have teamed up with Everyman Birmingham to present a curated choice of original, gutsy films, complimented by a free Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned cocktail delivered directly to your seat ahead of the movie.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

The latest film in the Bold Cinema Series, American Animals is a classic American heist movie - the perfect partner for the authentic Old Fashioned, which also incidentally hails from Kentucky.

American Animals is a true-to-life story of four naive friends who plan to steal £2m in rare books from their college library in an attempt to inject some excitement into their lives.

It's a classic heist movie, except there's no glorifying the crime or pitying the criminals.

The film features uncomfortably honest interjections from real-life culprits Spencer Reinhard, Warren Lipka, Eric Borsuk and Chas Allen, which serve as a blunt reminder of the impact this reckless crime had on ordinary lives.

Barry Keoghan and Evan Peters play the lead roles as Spencer and Warren, with Jared Abrahamson and Blake Jenner as Eric and Chas.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

Speaking about the film, director Bart Layton said: "American Animals isn’t about glamourising a heist – in fact, it’s kind of the opposite.

"The movie is real, it’s brutal and it’s based on a true story.

"The plot hasn’t been wildly exaggerated and hasn’t been fictionalised, you are constantly remembering that this is happening in the same world that you and I live and breathe in.

"And so, because of that, your engagement and investment in the story is heightened."

Cinemagoers can catch American Animals while sipping on a Wild Turkey 101 Old Fashioned from September 7 at The Mailbox.
