A concert full of well loved favourites
8:50am Sunday 24th June 2012 in What's On
Soloist Tim Stidwill from the Sinfonia of Birmingham.
RESIDENTS are being invited to an evening of classical music.
A concert full of well loved favourites by Mozart, Delius and Haydn, among others, will be performed by the Sinfonia of Birmingham in Barnt Green.
The group is one of the leading chamber orchestras in the West Midlands and performs regularly at the CBSO Centre and around the region, as well as accompanying local choral societies.
The concert, conducted by Michael Seal, will also see the York Bowen’s Concerto for Horn and String Orchestra.
York Bowen was often regarded as the English Rachmaninov, and this luscious composition has a lyrical quality.
It is on Saturday, July 7 at St Andrew's Church starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 (£8 for over 60s, £6 other concessions) and will be available on the door or by calling 0121 447 7671 in advance.
