THE Hoares were crowned winners of Droitwich Spa Hockey Club's annual Easter Tournament after a dramatic 3-2 penalty flick win over The Big Frothy Jugs.
The seven a-side tournament allows club members to play in mixed teams to compete against each other for the club shield.
This year saw five squads battling it out.
After the round robin stage it was Wades Babes who picked up the wooden spoons and were knocked out of the competition.
The Big Frothy Jugs, captained by Ed Deacon, and Chris Hoare's side The Hoares played out a nail-biting final.
After normal time the teams were all square and the even-sided battle continued into extra-time but still neither team could penetrate the other's defence.
The Hoares eventually won 3-2 on flicks and were crowned 2008 tournament winners.
