SEVENTEEN-year-old Alisha Southall, from Barnt Green, was crowned Miss Bromsgrove at a successful Stoke fete.

About 500 visitors flocked to the recreation ground on Saturday to enjoy the many activities and stalls on offer before the six contestants were judged at 2.30pm.

She said Alisha was presented with smart new luggage and is also set to attend many official duties throughout the next 12 months of her reign. Thelma added: "The whole day was absolutely lovely. Everyone on the parish council worked very hard to make it a success, but special thanks should go to Ken Shakespeare who ran the steam rally and kept us novice organisers on the right track."
