Team pick up a vital victory

BROMSGROVE Golf Club's 17/24 team beat Widney Manor in their second league match of the season.

The match was played on a glorious warm sunny day so conditions were ideal for good golf.

The result was a high scoring game with some fine individual performances which Bromsgrove won by 301-282, maintaining their impressive start to the season.

Prior to the game, Widney Manor had been undefeated on their own course for over three years.

The Bromsgrove team consisted of Bob Hodges (38pts), Rob Millward (41pts), Barrie Claridge (34pts), Craig Goldsby (39pts), Rob Greening (38pts), Brad Styring (41pts), Steve Hart (29pts) and Cameron Long (41pts).

Bromsgrove's senior men managed a fine victory by 3.5 matches to 2.5 against Henley Golf Club while the club's midweek ladies won away three and one at Ombersley.
