A YOUTHFUL Bromsgrove Rovers side were seen off by first-half goals from James Ince and Dave Dainty.
The Greens, led by Dave Connell and Ian Weaving for last night's friendly, fielded a mixture of reserve and youth team players, while trialists Omar Bangura and Steve Nurse were also given a run out.
A shoulder injury to goalkeeper Paul Maynard after 30 minutes forced Gareth Vizor to take up goalkeeping duties.
The striker-turned-keeper was called into action minutes later, getting a strong hand to Dainty's shot.
But Church took the lead from the resulting corner when Ince found space at the near post to head home Sam Hawker's corner.
Dainty doubled the home side's advantage two minutes before the break with a comfortable tap-in after Vizor could only parry Sam Willis' shot.
Rovers had a chance to get back into the game courtesy of a second-half penalty.
Nurse was bought down by substitute goalkeeper Shaun Hayes, but the custodian made up for his error by guessing the right way, pushing the forward's spot-kick fo safety.
