BROMSGROVE music lovers are being invited to the next concert from a popular town orchestra.

The Orchestra of St John’s Church formed in 2011, and has gone on to perform a series of concerts that have been enjoyed by townsfolk.

On Saturday, December 1, the orchestra will be performing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto that includes two classical symphonies, Mozart’s The Haffner and Symphony No 99 by Haydn.

There will also be a performance of Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, which he wrote in 1870.

The soloist for the concerto will be Alastair Moseley, who is one of the founders of the orchestra together with his wife Cathy, and Sue Peters.

Alastair will be performing the concerto on a basset clarinet - the instrument the work was originally written for.

The concert, being held at St John’s Church off Kidderminster Road, starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £10 each, which includes interval refreshments and a programme.

Accompanied children go free.

Alastair said: "The orchestra’s mission is to showcase players and soloists from Bromsgrove, and the wealth of talent in our region, so please come along to support Bromsgrove’s very own local, high quality orchestra and choir."

Tickets are available from St John’s parish office on 01527 878801 or on the door.
