A BROMSGROVE-based firm of solicitors has donated the costs from its will writing services last month, to St Richard’s Hospice.

Thomas Horton LLP solicitors, raised more than £700 for the cause, by drawing up simple wills for customers free of charge, but asking them to donate their fee to the charity instead.

Tina Circus, head of wills, trusts and probate, said: “Many people put off having a will written as the prospect of dying is never a pleasant subject to have to think about. Almost three-quarters of adults die without making a will and this can cause complications for families and loved ones at an already difficult and sad time. Having a will in place means you’ll have peace of mind that when you pass away, your loved ones are protected and provided for according to your wishes.

“We were extremely pleased to offer our will writing fee as a donation to the wonderful work St Richards Hospice does for the families and loved ones who are facing the prospect of losing someone they care for. We are proud to be able to help local businesses and we hope that the money raised will help them continue with the invaluable care and support they provide.”

The money will go towards providing care for patients and families living with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
