YOUNGSTERS from Jellybabies Nursery have been busy raising cash for not one, but two vital charities.
As part of Operation Christmas Child children from the Longbridge nursery, as well as Longbridge Methodist Church and the day centre, helped fill more than 100 shoeboxes.
Representatives from Samaritans Purse shoebox appeal, Mike Lockett and Brian Palmer, recently came to Longbridge Methodist Church to collect the shoeboxes.
Jacqueline Walker, from nursery, said: “We had a tremendous response to the appeal and this year 101 shoeboxes filled with love were collected.
“The nursery children were involved firstly bringing in shoeboxes and then helping to carry the shoeboxes to the collection van.
“This was a really good way for our nursery/pre-school children to learn about helping children less fortunate than themselves.”
If that wasn’t enough, the nursery also raised cash for Children in Need.
Youngsters took part in a number of activities including painting using their teeth and bringing in money for a Pudsey trail.
All money raised will go toward the charity which aims to help make a difference to children and young people.
