THE deadline for townsfolk to have their say on a major shake up of the boundaries across the Bromsgrove electoral map is fast approaching.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England is asking residents for their opinions on draft proposals to redraw the map, including new council wards, ward boundaries and ward names.

The proposals also move to a one-member-one-ward system, with 32 councillors in total - seven fewer than the current arrangements.

An eight-week consultation period is underway, which closes on January 7.

The full recommendations, and interactive maps, have been made available at consultation.lgbce.org.uk and on the commission’s website, lgbce.org.uk.

Hard copies of the commission’s report and maps have also been made available to view in council buildings.

Anyone who wishes to make comments or suggestions is asked to write to the commission via the Review Officer (Bromsgrove), Local Government Boundary Commission for England, Layden House, 76-86 Turnmill Street, London, EC1M 5LG.

Alternatively, email reviews@lgbce.org.uk or contact the commission through its webpage lgbce.org.uk.
