Town school is outstanding in all departments

STAFF and pupils from a Bromsgrove school have been celebrating after receiving an excellent Ofsted inspection.
Chadsgrove School and Special Sports College, in Catshill, caters for town children with special needs.
Headteacher Deb Rattley was newly in post at the time of the Meadow Road-based school’s 2010 inspection - in which the school received a good rating.
Inspectors visited the school for two days in November, and the school’s overall rating has now been improved to a one, which in Ofsted’s criteria is outstanding.
In all four categories judged; achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management, the school received the rating.
Among inspector’s key findings is that pupils’ behaviour and safety is of the highest order, leadership is outstanding because of the focus on providing high standard education, and the sixth form is outstanding because it enables students to face the next stage of their lives, with confidence.
Teachers were found to have received excellent support, but are also challenged to work at a consistently high level.
The inspector’s report said: “What was already a good school has improved even further since the last inspection.
“The achievement of pupils is far above that found in similar schools.”
Inspectors said the school could improve even further by extending its outreach service offered to mainstream schools, pupils and families in order to maximise the number of disabled pupils receiving high quality education.
The headteacher said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised as being an ‘outstanding’ school.
“There is a strong commitment to excellence throughout the school and we constantly strive to provide education of the highest standard.
“I am immensely proud of the pupils, staff and Governors and would like to congratulate them all on this superb achievement and thank them all for their commitment to our school.”
