STOCKINGS full of goodies for dogs and cats were delivered to a Catshill animal centre helping unwanted animals – thanks to generous residents and staff at a Bromsgrove care home.
Wayside Care Home, in New Road, collected donations of food, toys, treats and biscuits for the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Catshill.
And Harvey the bull mastiff and his owner, Pets as Therapy volunteer Rachel Jenkins, delivered the donations to the centre just before Christmas.
The nursing home has regular visits from the Pets as Therapy charity, which brings along temperament tested dogs and cats so that residents can enjoy contact with animals.
Sue Macfarlane, the home’s activities co-ordinator, said: “We wanted to do something for the unloved animals at Christmas.
“We really enjoy and know how important it is for residents to have interaction with animals as therapy, and thought this would be a nice way to say ‘thank you’.”
