A BROMSGROVE man, who taught at a town school for nearly four decades, is releasing a third novel to raise money for charity.

David Craig first became a published author in 2010 with the release of The Root of the Narrow, which sold well and even attracted interest from readers in Japan and Germany.

In 2011 David wrote a second novel, An Inheritance, which also enjoyed success.

Now David, who began teaching German at North Bromsgrove High School in 1961 and retired just over a decade ago, is releasing his latest book, Panting for Rebecca.

The novel is the light hearted story of a man meeting an attractive woman on a bus who then loses her, and begins a search to find her.

The book also features three additional short stories written by David.

The Sidemoor resident has decided to donate money from sales of the book to the Hill Wheeler School charity, which is supporting the Kenyan school by improving the primitive conditions in which its 15 staff teach 200 pupils.

David said he hopes people will buy and enjoy the book, and in the process it will raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Panting for Rebecca, published by Ondondy Books, costs £6 and is available from WHSmiths in Bromsgrove High Street, or Hamptons Opticians, in Crown Close.

David added he is also hoping the novel will be made available on Amazon’s website.
