HISTORY lovers are being invited to a town society’s talk, being held next month.
On Tuesday, February 19, Dr Chris Upton will be giving the talk at the Trinity Centre, in Old Birmingham Road.
The talk, organised by the Lickey Hills Local History Society, is entitled The Workhouses of Birmingham.
Dr Upton will be explaining the effects that the 1834 Poor Law Act had upon the lives of those who entered Birmingham’s workhouses.
Admission costs £2.50, but is free to society members.
The meeting starts at 7.45pm.
