Bromsgrove motorists warned about M5 drainage work

MOTORISTS are being warned about drainage work on the stretch of the M5 near Rubery.
The Highways Agency will be carrying out the work on the southbound carriageway, between Junction 3 (near Halesowen) and 4 (Lydiate Ash), from Monday, January 28.
Due to take four weeks to complete, the work is being carried out on the drainage system and to gullies in a section of the hard shoulder.
Restrictions will be place while the work is underway, including a 24-hour, 50 mph speed limit.
Between Monday and Fridays, two narrow lanes will run from 8pm until 4pm the following day. Three narrow lanes will run between 4-8pm.
Between 8pm on Fridays, until 4pm on Monday, two narrow lanes will be running.
Charlotte Foster, from the Highways Agency, said: “To minimise disruption to road users we will keep three lanes open during the evening rush hour.
“We advise drivers to allow extra time for their journeys.”
