Exhibition bus drops by High Street to fill people in over station plans
10:20am Thursday 17th January 2013 in News
VISITORS to Bromsgrove High Street this week had the opportunity to help shape the future of the town’s new railway station.
An exhibition bus parked up at the top of the high street, giving shoppers the chance to have a good look at the current proposals for the station, and give their opinions on the changes being suggested.
People are being consulted on proposals for a new modern state of the art station which would include four platforms connected by a covered walkway, as well as direct access to local bus services, and approximately 350 parking spaces.
The new development would mean that more trains could stop at Bromsgrove, but it would also affect residents and businesses in Aston Fields and Breme Park, because of necessary changes to the local road network, to improve access to the new station.
Residents are being asked for their overall view on the plans, as well as more specific information about their travel habits and whether they think the new station will benefit them directly.
To take part in the consultation, which ends on Sunday, March 17, visit worcestershire.gov.uk/transport.
