POLICE followed tracks in the snow to make an arrest this morning, (January 18).

Officers were called to Waseley Road, Rubery, at around 4.30am, after a resident was reported seeing a man walking from house-to-house trying to open porch doors, and also trying to open car doors in the street.

Tracks were found in the snow, helping lead police to a man in his 20s.

The man was arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference, and officers seized the keys to two vehicles as it is suspected the keys were stolen.

The man was taken to Redditch Police Station, where he is currently helping officers with their inquiries.

PC John Coleman said: "As part of our investigation we are trying to establish if anything has been stolen from vehicles in that area overnight.

“I would urge anyone who has found their vehicle has been entered and property stolen to let us know as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Coleman on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 48-S-180113.
