A BROMSGROVE company has been named as one of the top 100 employers in the country by the lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) charity Stonewall.

Core Assets Group ranked 35th in the 2013 index, and seventh place in the firm's top 10 global gay-friendly employers list.

The Stonewall Index is judged on a range of key indicators which include a confidential survey of 9,000 lesbian, gay and bisexual employees.

The Core Assets Group successfully launched a number of new initiatives throughout last year, including closer community engagement with LGB fostering and adoption support groups and the development of a mentoring scheme for managers of LGB staff.

Executive director and diversity champion at Core Assets, Estella Abraham, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to gain this level of recognition which evidences the importance we place on diversity and equality in the workplace.

“As a leading international social care organisation, we are dedicated to championing the rights of the LGB community.

“It is thanks to this group of employees that we can ensure Core Assets is a great place to work, whatever sexual orientation staff may have.”

The company, based in Stoke Prior, aims to make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
