RESIDENTS at a Bromsgrove care home enjoyed a special party celebrating the land down under.
Staff at Wayside Care Home, in New Road, organised a fun day of activities on Friday, January 25, to mark Australia Day.
Residents wore cork hats, while the home was full of Australian flags and bunting, inflatable kangaroos and paper boomerangs.
Sue Macfarlane, activities co-ordinator at the care home, said: “Some of our residents have been to Australia in their earlier days.
“They love watching nature programmes about the fabulous birdlife and animals of Australia and the day was a wonderful opportunity to chat, reminisce and see some films about the continent."
Eileen Crawford, who recently had a visit from her granddaughter Claire now living in Australia, went to the country several times.
The 92-year-old said: “I saw plenty of joey kangaroos and it was lovely and sunny.”
