Bromsgrove actor supports national doodle day
2:40pm Friday 1st February 2013 in News
POPULAR Bromsgrove actor and comedian Mark Williams is showing his support for a campaign to raise money for an epilepsy charity.
National Doodle Day, being held on Friday, February 8, encourages people to create their own doodle sketch to raise money for Epilepsy Action, which improves the lives, through practical support, of people with epilepsy.
The Harry Potter and Fast Show star’s doodle is being auctioned on Ebay from this Friday, with money raised being donated to the charity.
Mark is being joined by other households names in the celebrity auction including Sir Terry Wogan, Sir Ian McKellen, Joanna Lumley, Rita Ora, and Tess Daly.
The celebrity auction runs until Sunday, February 17.
As well as making bids in the auction, Bromsgrove residents are also being invited to take part in the campaign ”do a doodle, donate a pound”, with prizes to be won for the best doodlers.
Philippa Cartwright, fund-raising events manager at Epilepsy Action, said: “National Doodle Day is a great way for celebrities and members of the public alike to get creative for a good cause.
“Taking just five minutes out of your day to doodle can make all the difference to the 600,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.”
