BROMSGROVE charities discovered fresh funding opportunities at an event hosted by Bromsgrove’s MP earlier this month.

Town MP Sajid Javid organised the event, where representatives from local charities were able to meet the funding bodies looking to support the charitable and voluntary sector.

Held at the Council House the event was attended by more than 70 members of local charities in addition to 10 representatives from funding organisations.

After Sajid opened the event, speakers from The Big Lottery Fund, BARN, Santander Foundation, Worcestershire Partnership, Worcestershire County Council, Lloyds TSB Foundation and HMRC all took to the stage.

Mr Javid said: “I was delighted to organise this event for local charities, and it was very pleasing to see so many people attend.

“Charities in Bromsgrove do so much good work throughout the year, yet they also often need help in providing their services, securing funds and finding volunteers.

“The aim of the event was to give charities more information about all of these things, so I hope that they will be able to use this to ensure that the community of Bromsgrove continues to receive the full benefits of all their hard work.”
