A BROMSGROVE couple enjoyed a surprise pizza delivery with an extra slice of romance on Valentine’s Day.

Birmingham Road resident James Morris entered a national competition run by pizza chain Papa John’s, challenging people to explain why they deserved a Valentine’s treat.

After being chosen the winner, the delivery was a complete surprise for James’ fiancee Michelle Griffin when the pair were delivered custom-made heart shaped pizzas, a bottle of champagne, chocolates, and were serenaded by the sounds of a violinist.

James said: “I entered the competition because I wanted to surprise Michelle with something totally different on Valentine’s Day, and I knew that she would not suspect anything when the pizza delivery arrived.

“It was a fantastic treat.

“The violinist was just the icing on the cake – or the topping on the pizza perhaps.”

Tony Kular, manager of Papa John’s Bromsgrove branch, said: “We are so pleased James and Michelle enjoyed our VIP Valentine delivery and hope that it marks the start of many happy Valentine’s Days together.”
