SIXTH form students from a Bromsgrove school have been showing off their business skills.

A team of four sixth form pupils from Bromsgrove School, in Worcester Road, have been taking part in national investment competition, the IFS Student Investor Challenge.

The team, named Oppa Gangnam, competed against 40,000 other UK students in the IFS Student Investor challenge.

The business-savy students managed to make £47,000 in virtual shares in just three months, outperforming the FTSE 100 share index, which helped them secure a place in the Midlands regional final.

The regional final is being held in Birmingham in March and if successful the team will go to the national final, taking place in April.

The competition, run by the IFS School of Finance and supported by Bloomberg, is designed to give students the chance to experience world of share dealing and investing in the stock market.
