WORK to build the latest phase of homes on the former MG Rover factory site in Longbridge, near Bromsgrove, is well underway.
The Park View development for 113 houses and apartments, situated off Lickey Road, has already been completed and St Modwen Homes are building an additional 19 new homes after receiving planning permission.
The new homes have already received a high level of interest from househunters in the local area, with many requesting to reserve plots.
Just two homes remain for sale from the first phase.
Neil Simpson, from St Modwen Homes, said: “We have worked closely with existing residents, local groups and schools – conducting public consultations, site tours and safety visits – to ensure we are working alongside the local community during all stages of construction at Park View.
“The new phase of housing will deliver a small selection of beautifully designed two and three bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses.
“The properties will be launched to the public in the next few months and our aim is to have the site build complete by the end of the year.”
• St Modwen Homes has also been named as a finalist in the National Site Awards 2013, under the Considerate Constructors Scheme, in recognition of the housebuilder’s work on the first phase of the residential development.
Park View has been selected from 8,500 eligible sites to win either a bronze, silver or gold award at a ceremony being held in April.
