Unhealthy Bromsgrove trees to be felled

TWO unhealthy trees in Bromsgrove are to be felled following expert advice.

The trees in the grounds of the former Parkside Middle School, in Stourbridge Road, were assessed by a tree protection expert from the district council.

The health of the cedar has been declining for some time while the second tree, a poplar, is also at risk and needs constant maintenance to keep it healthy.

Councillor Kit Taylor said: “We have sought the views of our tree protection expert who is happy that these trees can be removed because, while they appear healthy, they are not.

“These trees are currently on a site earmarked for future development and it seems timely that we take this necessary action now.

“We will be replacing them with healthier trees within the town.”
