A STAR of the world's longest running radio serial will be appearing at a charity event being held in Hanbury.
Set in the fictional village of Ambridge, which is thought to be based on Hanbury, The Archers has gripped fans for more than 60 years.
Sara Coward, who plays hotel owner Caroline Sterling in the long-running Radio 4 series, will be speaking at a ladies’ evening being held at the Jinney Ring Centre, in Hanbury Road, from 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 17.
Money raised at the event is being donated to the Worcester Snoezlen centre, which provides sensory stimulation for people with severe learning difficulties.
Jinney Ring owner Amanda Sunter said the actress will be sharing some fantastic stories during the talk.
She said: “Sara is promising us some prime entertainment with tales of rural village life.
“She’ll also be performing material from the two women show Wicked Women that she does with her Archers co-star Sunny Ormonde, who plays Lilian Bellamy.”
The event includes a buffet supper, while guests can look round the variety of stalls which will have items designed to appeal to a female audience.
Tickets cost £15 and can be obtained from the Jinney Ring gift shop or jinneyring.co.uk.
