A CATSHILL youngster has taken the plunge to raise money for Comic Relief.

Zoe Smallman-Jones, seven, wanted to do something for this year’s Red Nose Day and decided to do a sponsored swim.

The Catshill First School pupil’s initial aim was to complete 16 lengths of the 25-metre pool at the Dolphin Centre, in School Drive, but she smashed this and completed more that double the original target.

The money collected for the charity has now been counted, and overall her efforts raised £119.

Proud mum Kerry Jones said: “She had the idea of doing something for Comic Relief, after seeing a clip on television.

“When she completed the swim she was overjoyed at her achievement, as it was the most she’s managed to swim to date.”
